An Open SaaS Institute's Request for Comments, or OSI-RFC, is a document that is used to describe and discuss the creation or proposed changes to technical standards.

The Open SaaS Institute adopted the term from the internet's technical standards are the rules and guidelines that govern how the internet works, and they are developed and maintained by the internet engineering community.

Anyone can propose a new standard or a change to a standard by writing an RFC, and the document is then reviewed and discussed by the broader Open SaaS community. If the proposed change is deemed to be beneficial, it can be adopted and incorporated into the Open SaaS standards.
